It doesn’t matter what sport we choose to play. Whether it’s Football, Basketball or Golf, keeping our eyes on the ball will increase our play by 10X. It sounds pretty simple, but it’s one of those skills that needs to be practiced repeatedly. It takes a disciplined approach.

When playing golf and building up some momentum after hitting the ball fairly well through the first 5 holes, we can get a bit overconfident and begin to take our eye off the ball because we want to swing harder. That doesn’t work. The next thing you know, we’re topping the ball 30 yards off the tee box.

Just like in our daily lives as we strive towards obtaining our goals, if we get distracted and lose our focus, you can guarantee we will not bring our goals to fruition. It takes a focused and discipline approach to keep our eye on our goals. This can be a challenge with so many things pulling at us from every direction calling for our immediate attention. Especially over a long period of time. But, this is exactly when we need to keep our nose to the grindstone.

It may not happen today or even tomorrow, but you can believe if we stay at, over time it will.

As long as we keep our eye on the ball.
